AP1600R-E2 (CS3) – 1U ASUSTeK server on two Nocona
ASUSTeK presented another
server solution, rack mount server AP1600R-E2 (CS3) [height – 1U],
on two Intel Xeon Nocona 800 processors (up to 3.6 GHz, 1 MB L2 cache).
The server is based on the NCL-DS1R1 motherboard (Lindenhurst chipset, south
bridge – Intel ICH5R). The board supports up to 8 DDR333 SDRAM DIMMs (registered,
with ECC), which allows you to bring the maximum memory subsystem up to 16 GB.
The board has two network controllers – Broadcom BCM5721 Gigabit Ethernet.
The server disk subsystem is based on a dual-channel Adaptec controller
AIC-7902 PCI-X Dual U320 SCSI, as for the SATA / PATA controller, the system
the capabilities of the south bridge were used, t.e. up to 2 SATA drives supported
with the ability to create RAID 0, 1, as well as two IDE channels (UltraATA 33/66
