RS480M2 and RX480M2: two MSI motherboards on Xpress 200
As we have already reported, ATI presented the ATI Xpress 200 family of chipsets two days ago, while at the same time the MSI MS7093 motherboard based on the new chipset was demonstrated (according to preliminary data, with the Uli M1573 south bridge). With its press release, MSI has officially announced two more Xpress 200-based motherboards – RS480M2 and RX480M2.
RS480M2 supports socket 939 on AMD Athlon 64 / Athlon 64 FX processor, PCI Express X16 interface, 1GHz HyperTransport bus and dual channel DDR400 memory, graphics on-chipset (ATI X300).
The second board, MSI RX480M2, differs from RS480M2 only in the absence of an integrated graphics system and is based on a discrete Xpress 200P chipset.
Both cards use the ATI SB400 South Bridge supporting SATA RAID 0, 1 or 0 + 1 (4 SATA ports). Also, Live Update 3 is available for both boards (Live BIOS, Live Drive, Live VGA BIOS and Live Utility).
