Decreasing Microprocessor Prices: Intel Strikes Back

Exactly a week has passed since AMD’s price list underwent significant changes: new positions were added (90 nm server Opteron x52 and budget Sempron for Socket 754) and prices for most of the existing ones were revised. Intel introduced new server Xeons around the same time, and also today announced the Pentium 4 6xx series and Pentium 4 3.73 GHz Extreme Edition families, targeted for use in high-performance workstations.
