According to several sources at once, sales of two new Mio PDAs are expected in Europe in the coming days – Mio 268 and 269. Having the built-in functionality of GPS-receivers and other identical characteristics, these two new items differ from each other in that the Mio 269 has a built-in 2.5 GB hard drive with preinstalled maps of Europe (occupying about 1.8 GB), and the Mio 268 has only maps of Belgium, Holland and Luxembourg. The dimensions of both models are also the same, and the difference in weight is minimal – the weight of the Mio 269 is only 6 g more than the weight of the Mio 268.
Both models are based on the Intel PXA255 300 MHz microprocessor, equipped with 32 MB Flash ROM and 64 MB RAM, 3.5-inch TFT LCD touchscreens with a resolution of 320×240 pixels and support for 65536 colors. The devices have a built-in SiRFStar II GPS-receiver with a built-in 18×18 mm antenna and a connector for connecting an external antenna.
