InfiNet Wireless Announces Launch of SkyMAN Access and SkyMAN Link Systems – Forerunners of WiMAX
February 15, 2021. At a press conference held at the Baltschug-Kempinski Hotel (Moscow), the journalists of the leading IT publications were presented with information about the launch of new equipment: the SkyMAN Access fixed wireless broadband access system and the SkyMAN Link system for building backbone wireless channels.
SkyMAN Access and SkyMAN Link systems enable operators to provide customers with a complete and inexpensive set of modern services at the stage of transition to the use of WiMAX equipment.
The SkyMAN Access system is designed to create carrier-class urban wireless networks and contains equipment for base stations, subscriber stations and repeaters. For the first time since the start of the production of Revolution universal wireless routers, which have gained great popularity in Russia and abroad, and have become a testing ground for the development of SkyMAN Access and SkyMAN Link systems, the company has launched the production of specialized equipment for base stations, subscriber stations, repeaters and end nodes of backbone radio channels.
The cost of a base station, depending on the number of sectors and subscribers, will range from 2,000 to 60,000 USD. The repeater will cost the operator about 2000 USD, and the subscriber station – only 595 USD! The SkyMAN Link system is designed to create point-to-point backbone radio channels with the ability to relay. A point-to-point channel with a real throughput of up to 20 Mbps will cost the operator approximately 1800 USD.
All equipment is built on the basis of proven technologies and technical solutions of InfiNet Wireless and provides a full range of services required by a wireless access operator, including mechanisms for ensuring high-quality transmission of voice and video information. The system supports multi-criteria traffic prioritization, dynamic subscriber bandwidth management and the creation of virtual private networks. All subscriber devices have built-in support for office IP-telephony. Subscriber stations have an all-weather design and built-in lightning protection. Models of subscriber stations with an integrated antenna are available, as well as with the ability to connect an external antenna.
